Mel Tillis is one of the most famous singers who has a difficult time speaking a sentence due to stuttering, but sings beautifully. James Earl Jones and Winston Churchill both battled stuttering. Jones said he gave up on speaking for a number of years because it was so painful. Blessings to this wonderfully talented young man and his family.

He's a great singer, but I have stuttered my whole life as well. No one who stutters has problems singing, this isn't a "miracle". Let's get our facts straight.

This young man has a gift for music. As a speech-language pathologist, I would like to add a bit of education about stuttering, or "fluency". Virtually 100% of people who stutter do not stutter when they sing. In fact, that is a portion of the diagnosis for a fluency disorder. I would strongly encourage him to work with a speech-language pathologist who really knows how to work with this disorder. He can improve!

Beautiful, and as noted by many others, it is exactly like Mel Tillis! I'm not the type to watch the show because I'm usually working during it's airing, and I only hear about people from work talking about it. I'm sure I'll be hearing about this young man for a while.

My pastor's sister has the same condition and it happens the same way for her when she sings. It really is pretty amazing to watch happen. It is almost like it is a different part of your brain that is triggered when you sing versus normal speech.

Lazaro, you have the greatest friend in the entire universe with you and his name is Jesus! God bless you! What a beautiful gift!

Hope my boys would have been his friend. My heart breaks over the cruelty of kids. If they all only knew the love of Christ, the world would be a so much different place! "Whatever you do... do ALL in the Name of the Lord Jesus!" (Colossians 3:17) The song is about Jesus! He is the Bridge over troubled water!

I can relate with Lazaro, cuz I too had a speech disability, and bullies when I was in school too, I'm stronger than I think. I have more of JESUS in my life, Laz keep singing, maybe I can sing with ya too.
