Joyce Worman Asher God speaks to us, we just need to listen, and She/He/Holy Spirit speaks to us in many way, the Bible being one way. I recall that the times I have prayed, I have been given an answer and those answers did not come from the Bible. There are times that one has to listen to the spirit as the Bible is not always readily available, so you learn to listen. Unless you live in isolation and you can grow your own food, clothes, computer, house, community, etc., take note that the next time you go to Wal-Mart to purchase your goods notice where the goods are coming from. Likely from China or Vietnam. And guess what, not everyone in these countries fits the Christian description (statistically speaking). How does that fit with not being connected? You are connected whether you like it or not to the non-believer and the believer. What have you got to lose by getting to know the non-believers? More importantly what have you to gain? The world is full of beautiful individuals who are also seeking to know the truth and it is totally up to God to make the judgements that we humans place on each other. Your beingness on this planet is hugely important. Do not diminish the life you are here to experience. Loving our fellow human being is our greatest task to accomplish and judging whether an individual is a believer or a non-believer makes no difference. That is not your concern. Jesus says love your enemies as you love yourself.

I love you guys... you tug at my heart so. Don't preach. Write... sing... carry what you have been blessed to carry to them all... until the whole world hears. Don't stop.

Loretta Weichler Mitchell in regard to your query who, what is God. Just look at Jesus, His life, His words and the words of many witnesses, those who knew him. Then you will be in a good position to know who God is. You will also get a better understanding of who you are and what the future will be and how we are related to each other and to God - and that we need to fully respond to Jesus. There is no other way to God but through Jesus.

Loretta Weichler Mitchell we will never have heaven on earth. If that were the case we wouldn't need heaven. God is in heaven and heaven is perfect that's why I want to spend eternity in heaven not earth. I'm not sure what you mean when you say there is more to God than the Christian story. To me that implies that you are adding to the Bible. The Word of God is complete, lacking nothing. To add or take away from it is human sin. It is the differences between the secs you mentioned above that discredit the similarities. Again, there is only One way to the Father and that is through Jesus Christ. I am not connected to a non believer. I am only connected to other brothers and sisters IN Christ. I have been adopted into God's family. Individuals feel 'empathy' during tragedy b/c we were created with some level of empathy. The future of this plant is already written...it was written before the creation of the world. God is in control. He doesn't need us to play a huge role. God helps those who love Him and ask Him. We can't help ourselves. If we could we wouldn't need Jesus.

Loretta Weichler Mitchell we are responsible to respond to Jesus but that entails making Him Lord and Saviour and our destiny is ultimately in His hands. Just as well as we lack that power and truth be told we cannot control life very well at all .

Joyce Worman Asher When you see the stars at night you see God's creation. When you see a butterfly or a bird you are seeing God at work. A beautiful rainbow is heaven sent. A baby's laugh is Godly. When a stranger says a kind word to you or just gives you a smile you are seeing God. God's creations are good. We all miss the mark (meaning of sin) at times, yet when we listen to what God is saying we start to get it. Yes, Jesus is showing us the way, He was and is showing us how we can have heaven on earth. Listening and understanding that there is more to God than the Christian story will help the world to finally have the peace on earth that mankind is yearning for. Listen to the Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Taoists, Budhists, atheists, etc. etc. Find the similarities instead of the differences. By God we are connected. We breathe the same air, drink the same water and share the DNA of our ancestors. When you see a picture of a starving child or yet another tragedy in another part of our world don't you feel the pain? Who could not feel the sorrow when the Challenger spaceship exploded? or Sept 11? Everyone on this planet is connected and we are all God's beautiful creations! And you better start realizing that all of us play a huge role in how the future of this planet will go. Everyday when you turn on the tap to have a drink of water who is in control? Everytime you purchase another item in the store, who is in control? God helps those who learn to help themselves. Thank you for sharing. I love you all.

Loretta Weichler Mitchell I guess you would be in charge if you choose not to accept Christ! God is in control, He is the light of the world and His light is in His Children!

Joyce Worman Asher How you put it is so beautiful in so many ways..

Loretta Weichler Mitchell In answer to your earlier questions...Who is God? God is the creator of heaven and earth. God has no beginning and no end. He is holy, incomprehensible, omnipresent, omniscient, merciful, righteous, self-sufficient, sovereign, unchanging and wise, just to name a few. Where is God? God is everywhere all the time. What is God? God is a Spirit and has no body as we do. We are not all connected. I am not you and you are not me. We were all made by God but God is not within each of us. Sin is within all of us (maybe that's what you meant when you said we are all connected)...We are all sinners. God chose before the beginning of time whom He would save. My salvation has nothing to do with anything I do or don't do but everything to do with what He did. Salvation from our sins is God's free gift through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is deliverance from the power of sin and death. Salvation comes to all who believe in Jesus.

Elisa Clinkscales When you know in your heart, soul and mind that you are truly one with God you will listen to what God leads you to do and that is your salvation. Christianity is one way to find your path to God but it is not the only way.

  • 2012-03-30T15:18:52

Loretta Weichler Mitchell No, God is not within you unless you accept Him as your Lord. If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus in Lord, then you are His. You must accept His free gift of salvation.
