I do not think that the politician-Christian is able of making good decisions among professional liars who emphasize only their ideology. According to the Bible, we respect governments in power, we pray for them, but let us be careful not to get involved there. Hence a Christian should not be involved in politics.

I agree that people should be politicians to spread the gospel, but don't let the system change you. It's kind of like being a celebrity in Hollywood. The system is dark and it may make you want to compromise, but don't let it. But it's the same with every other Christian, except, I think it's on a more magnified level.

It makes sense to be involved sense we pay taxes and we are given a say in how money is spent and laws that are made and upheld through our courts. I am not a fool and there is no doubt that many of our leaders are only interested in a personal agenda instead of representing the people but we must try to continue to find leaders that represent our values. We are not ashamed of God's word.

So why do we need to do anything that doesn't further God's agenda? If we have to get involved in politics, then why didn't Christ our example do that, or His apostles?

the universe is a gift to man by God. so anything in it, and all that have been discovered and invented by man, should also realize its responsibility of making use of our full strength to take us towards the creator. so man should participate in his growth by acknowledging His mighty hand in it.

I agree there is nothing wrong with a christian getting involved with politics but just like any profession we are called to shine the light not put it under the bushel. So if we are called into that field, let us remember that we are ambassadors for Christ and we cannot compromise. That goes for any profession. God help us!

Christ said: " My kingdom is not of this world!" So we as christians understand that when Christ returns we will than have perfect goverment, God's kingdom here on earth! in the mean time mankind will reap what he saws, just like God told Samuel the prophet when the Nation of Israel wanted a king so they could conform and be like the rest of the world, the sorounding nations God said to Samuel " they've rejected me" So today we have all the horror and injustice that having man ruling over man brings upon us. Just look at the nations around us, right now the situation in Syria , Africa, Greece, ect. It will not stop until Christ the righteous ruler comes!

And that would be?

GOD GAVE AMERICA A COMMAND: TO BE THE LIGHT TO THE WORLDAND A HAVEN, A REFUGE FOR THE LOST AND HURTING. WE HAVE FORGOTTEN AND GIVEN UP OUR JOB AND UNTIL WE , THE CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS TAKE BACK OUR RESPONSIBILITY AND BE THAT LIGHT GOD CAN NOT BLESS US. WE ARE TO BE INVOLVED AS BELIEVERS IN ALL ASPECTS OF THIS WORLD , WORKING TO BRING IT INTO THE LIGHT OF GOD.WE CAN NOT DO THIS IF WE CONTINUE TO HIDE OUR LIGHT UNDER THE PROVERBIAL BASKET.

Earl C. I like your comment. You are right on.The fellow mentions Romans 13. I think the king james version is helpful to read along with the New International version translation. Those who are reading also may find 1 Samueal 8 interesting. Where God warns the people of "what the king who will reign over them do" (govornment).

Amen. Praying, "Lord, let Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven," and then voting for and supporting candidates who follow God's will as expressly laid out in scripture, makes perfect sense to me.

Amen. Every Christian has moral responsibility not only for personal life but also for the society before God, a holy duty to rescue innocent victims, halt the spread of the sick immorality and to bring liberty, safety and justce for all in the present secular society. Any neutral means including politics must be used to accomplish the noble Christian purposes.
