Beautiful Sacrifice - 4 Boyfriends Lay Down Their Lives For Their Girlfriends in the Movie Shooting

It is so sad, but so beautiful, to see this kind of sacrificial love contrasted against the backdrop of such evil. These four men helped me see how much even more amazing our God's love is for this fallen world. Romans 5:6-11 (ESV). 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

My favorite comment is towards the end, "That's what a man does, he protects the ones he loves." He is right. This is what men should do. Lay down their lives, selfish desires and agendas for others. Men should protect, provide, love and cherish their loved ones. As tragic as this is, it is also a good thing to see this and hear these people speak out about the heroic actions of these men. Praying for these families and the people who had to walk through this nightmare.

Extremely painful. It's time to let go and LET God have His Way

The four young heroes are now safe in the arms of Jesus. Rest in peace.

This is the kind of man I try to be as a husband to my wife, the kind of man that I raise my son to be, and the kind of man that I pray that my daughter will one day marry. "Husbands love your wives as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it." (Ephesians 5:25). These are not boys, but MEN of GOD.

As I watched this, I could not stop the tears that ran down my face. I have never met these young men or can say that I know them, but I grieve for them in their passing and for all who loved them and knew them and....more. Who knows all of the wonderful things in the future they would have accomplished, experienced or done for others? I grieve for the passing of a light in the world as they each in their own ways brought goodness and light to those around them. I feel sadness for all of that could have been, that was stolen away. My heart goes out to all of those suffering at this time.

It's our relationship with our God that allows us to bear the pain and come through with peace and forgiveness. Seek the Father in this and seek his peace.
