Christian Music Artist Cody McCarver is widely known for his career in country music and as an actor. Cody began his country music journey playing bass for Lynn Anderson (I Beg Your Pardon, I never Promised you a Rose Garden). Cody spent over a decade with the multi-platinum band Confederate Railroad. In 2010 he signed a recording contract and headed to Capital Studios in Los Angeles and began a country music solo career. Cody had a lucrative career as a solo artist with several accolades including 3 number 1 videos on CMT’s Pure Country and Music Row independent artist of the year for 3 consecutive years. Cody has been fortunate to work with some of the biggest names in Country Music. Legends like Johnny Paycheck, David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard and Charlie Daniels. Cody had major success in his solo career with songs like Red Flag, Redneck Friends of Mine and Through God’s Eyes. Through God’s Eyes, written about his father being in prison, allowed Cody to be a representative for Big Brother/Big Sisters of America. Cody also was given the opportunity to act in several western films through Lionsgate Films such as, Cole Younger and the Black Train with Michael Madsen (PG) and Billy the Kid (PG-13). Cody has also acted in and wrote the soundtracks for other films as well.
You may be surprised to find that Cody is doing Christian Music now, however this is no surprise to the congregation who remember him playing the piano in the small mountain church in Spencer, Tennessee, where he was raised.
