'I'll Stand By You' Cover From Peter Hollens And The Hound And The Fox

Peter Hollens and the talented husband and wife duo of The Hound + The Fox perform a stunning cover of ‘I’ll Stand By You.’ This iconic song was originally released by The Pretenders in 1994.

It was a hit for the rock band and went on to spurn countless covers by artists such as Shakira, Tori Kelly and Girls Aloud. The heartfelt words tell the story of a person expressing their support for a friend going through a difficult season.

“Oh, why you look so sad, the tears are in your eyes,
Come on and come to me now, and don't be ashamed to cry,
Let me see you through, 'cause I've seen the dark side too.”

Today, Peter Hollens and The Hound + The Fox are putting their own spin on this 90’s classic and it’s a performance you don’t want to miss. Peter became an instant social media star when he started to post a cappella cover songs of our favorite tunes such as ‘Mary Did You Know’ and ‘Hallelujah.’

Many of his videos went viral and now it’s his full-time job to make incredible a cappella musical arrangements of popular songs and powerful originals. Reilly and McKenzie Zamber are a husband and wife pair known as The Hound + The Fox. For years, they’ve also shared their vocal talent with the world using social media.

As they join together, it’s truly an amazing cover of this beloved tune.

“I'll stand by you,
I'll stand by you, won't let nobody hurt you,
I'll stand by you.
Baby, even to your darkest hour, and I'll never desert you,
I'll stand by you.”

As our world walks through troubling times, it’s more important than ever to lean on your friends, family and faith. When we put our trust in God, He will see us through any obstacle.

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26

Victory over sinful thoughts starts with dependence upon God to stay free from enslaving sin. It’s a life lived with a surrendered mouth and heart before God. Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
