Christmas Candy Cane Poem about Jesus
Look at the Candy Cane
What do you see?
Stripes that are red
Like the blood shed for me
White is for my Savior
Who’s sinless and pure!
“J” is for Jesus My Lord, that’s for sure!
Turn it around
And a staff you will see
Jesus my shepherd
Was born for Me!
Sometimes this simple poem is called the legend, but I prefer to simply use it as an object lesson message to tell the Christmas story. It’s a fun way to remind the kids that Jesus is the reason for the season.
The history of the Candy Cane is fairly straight forward. So just call it an object lesson.
The candy can reminds me of Jesus ….
Here is a popular poem about the Christmas candy cane and how it can remind us of the Gospel. I have seen this used alongside the legend of the candy cane, but I think it’s better to leave the legend part out. Just use it as an object lesson or children’s sermon for the children. Say, “Let me teach you a poem about the candy cane that will help us to remember Jesus this Christmas season.”
