Two youngsters showed off their musical abilities with a stunning and awe-inspiring rendition of The Carpenters’ classic “Close to You.”
God is in control. He makes the decisions and calls in life. For instance, He decides who gets what talents and gives everyone a different set of abilities and skills. No two people are the same, and similarly, neither are the gifts He so graciously bestows upon individuals.
Talent can and does come in many different shapes, sizes and forms. Often, those most blessed with loads of eye-popping talent are the same people we may overlook for one reason or another. Even the littlest and most innocent can surprise us with their God-given abilities.
Even though young and inexperienced, children can be those blessed with the most talent. A clip posted on social media shows two young people singing and performing a beloved tune from The Carpenters, “Close to You.”
The video begins with the young man and little lady sitting on a piano bench. He starts tickling the ivories and produces the familiar tune. Moments into the video, after the young man plays the song's opening notes, the girl comes in and starts belting out the lyrics.
The little girl’s lovely voice reminds listeners, to a certain degree, of Karen Carpenter’s sweet and pitch-perfect voice. Karen Carpenter’s voice was fantastic, and you could listen to it for hours without ever getting tired of it.
According to the children’s Instagram page, they are Maya and Max. Maya is 10 years old, while Max is a little younger, at seven. On their page, you’ll find several videos of them playing other classic songs, such as John Lennon’s “Imagine,” “Hey Jude” by The Beatles and Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to The Moon.”
It's clear that these children, Maya and Max, have been incredibly blessed with God-given musical ability.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
