John Hancock was no Massachusetts moderate! A wealthy businessman, he joined the Continental Congress during the period of the American Revolution and served as its first President. He was the first one to sign the Declaration of Independence, and he signed with such large letters that no one would need their glasses to read it. While this would put his life at great risk, the apostle Paul faced similar consequences for the letter he wrote to the churches of Galatia.
