A beautiful bird demonstrated absolutely no fear or apprehension as it hopped around, teasing and taunting a cat.

Animals are some of the most unique, quirky and fascinating creatures you’re likely to ever encounter on Earth. Many will constantly surprise and amaze you with their bewildering antics and hijinks. They are also pretty good entertainment and will consistently have you doubled over with laughter.

They also constantly demonstrate a level of intelligence that many people severely and continually underestimate. Instinctually, animals know how, when and what to eat. They also have a good sense of who to avoid so that they do not become meals themselves.

However, when removed from the wild, some animals tend to forget to avoid their natural predators as one video shows. A short but hilarious clip shows a gorgeous bird on a piece of furniture dancing and hopping around while looking down at the ground.

If viewers look down and to the right of the bird, they will spot a rather sizable black-and-white cat. The cat sits quietly, looking up at the bird, watching the winged creature do its taunting dance. It’s clear from the bird’s hilarious and taunting motions that it wants to engage and play with the feline.

A bird wanting to play with a cat doesn’t sound like a situation that would end well for the bird. Anyone who has ever had a cat knows they are obsessed with birds and will often sit at windows staring at them for hours. 

However, despite the bird’s best efforts, the cat, referred to by a woman behind the camera as “Oreo,” is not interested in playing with the bird.

The video is not even a minute and a half long, so it would be interesting to see what happened after the camera stopped. Did the cat eventually give in and play with the taunting bird, and did the bird survive the playtime?
