Longtime Married Rocker Jon Bon Jovi Shares Wisdom For Long-Lasting Marriage
Legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi, who has been married for over three decades, shared some wisdom for a long and happy marriage.
Marriage is one of the best things about life. There isn’t anything like sharing and experiencing life with the love of your life right by your side. They are there when you’re at your worst and when you’re at your best. They are a loving and helping hand when you’re feeling down and in need of a word of encouragement.
However, in addition to being one of the best parts of life, marriage is also one of the most difficult. Anything worthwhile is always challenging, including marriage. Life will unexpectedly throw difficult situations and circumstances in your way. These instances will test the strength and resiliency of that marriage relationship.
A long-lasting and happy marriage is something that everyone enters into that sacred bond desiring. But sadly, that does not always happen. In particular, celebrity marriages never seem to last more than a couple of years.
Rocker Jon Bon Jovi and his wife have defied this trend. They have been married for 35 years. In a video posted on YouTube, Jon shared some words of advice for couples who recently said, “I do.”
Jon’s advice involved telling couples to embrace change and meeting difficulties together as a couple.
“It’s all about growing together,” Jon said. “You know, every day is going to bring you challenges, and you’re going to change over the course of 35 years. But growing together, I think, is the key to happiness.”
Jon’s words about relationships and marriage happened when he sat down for a Good Morning America “Ask Me Anything” session. The first question he pulled out of the hat was about achieving a long-lasting and happy marriage.
Genesis 2:24 “For this cause will a man go away from his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they will be one flesh.”
