The Bible is a book filled with truth, promises and directions on how to handle every situation life throws our way. Essentially, the Bible is an instruction manual for daily living. 

God’s Word, in Psalm 119:105, is called “a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.” The Word of God is a powerful tool, able to equip us for battle against the one who deceives, lies and seeks to destroy.

The song “It Is Written” by Women Who Worship mentions the power of the Word of God. In the first verse, the song’s lyrics refer to the Bible as a “weapon, sharper than any sword” and that it “fulfills every promise.” 

The song’s second verse describes the Bible as living, breathing, active and possessing the ability to break every lie and curse. 

However, the most powerful part of the entire song is its chorus. The lyrics state that in God’s Word, there is not just power but victory over the evil one. Hell has not and will not win because Jesus Christ, through His death and resurrection, has the power over sin and death!

All authority in heaven and on earth to You is given”

The lyrics also mention the many other promises in His Word. Christ will be with us when we succeed and experience joy and pain. He will also be there when we fail and need to ask for forgiveness because, as the song states, He is rich in mercy. 

What a beautiful and uplifting song about the power of God’s Word!
