Dig My Grave’ Voice Winner Todd Tilghman Official Lyric Video
Todd Tilghman, a recent winner of The Voice, now has an original song about what will happen to him once he leaves this world.
Death is one of a few certainties in life. Of course, the other, according to the popular saying, is taxes. Regardless, everyone will leave this world eventually. Our time on earth is limited and is not a second longer than the good Lord has permitted.
However, while death will come to us all at one time or another, we can have certainty beyond the grave. Todd, who won The Voice’s season 18, mentions this in his song, “Dig My Grave.”
In the official lyric video posted on YouTube, Todd begins by making the point that every day we’re alive is another moment closer to death. He also adds that death, because of the many unknowns, is a major fear for many. But Todd states that he does not share this fear. Instead, he knows where he’s headed.
“The clock just keeps on spinning
Everybody fears the end
But a six-foot hole in the clay
Won’t be enough to stand in my way”
In the song’s catchy and toe-tapping chorus, Todd adds that others can and will dig his grave, but it’s not where he will remain. Instead, Todd sings that he has a one-way ticket. He knows where he’s going.
Todd, in the second verse, tells his family and friends to not mourn his death. He informs listeners he is headed to “a brand new home.” He is going to his heavenly reward!
What a terrific example of the confidence available to all in Jesus Christ! All can live life this way and have no fear of death because of the power, love and forgiveness found in Christ.
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.”

A Prayer to Help You Comfort Others - Your Daily Prayer - April 25
Have you ever wondered if there is any purpose in your suffering? We certainly don’t go looking for suffering—it comes to us because life is a journey through difficulties and triumphs. Sufferings are a reminder of what Jesus Christ went through and it is a way for us to encourage others.
