The music will set you firmly on solid ground and anchored in God’s greatness. Cody reminds us to put our faith in the Lord. We will never be disappointed. Yet, we’re flawed human beings, and we put our faith in silly things. We have faith that our car will get us from home to work. 

We have faith that the roof over our heads will keep us dry and warm. We have faith the mail will be delivered every day. In the grand scheme of life, these everyday moments are trivial when we compare them to God. 

Cody wrote Firm Foundation as a reminder to stand firm in your faith when everything else seems to be faltering. He wanted to write a song that reflected the declarative promises in Matthew 7 when Jesus shared the story of two houses, one built on solid ground, the other built on sand. 

The story proclaims Jesus will not fail us no matter how much the ground shakes or how hard the winds might blow. If we build our lives and faith on the Rock of Christ, we can face any storm. 

“Christ is my firm foundation. The rock on which I stand. When everything around me is shaken. I've never been more glad. That I put my faith in Jesus. 'Cause He's never let me down. He's faithful through generations, so why would He fail now?”

What a blessed assurance and faith-boosting confidence God’s Word gives us. We can rest securely in His mighty hands. Through Him all things are possible. We hope this sound grounded you in God’s promises today.
