'Blessed Assurance' Voices Of Gaither Live Performance
Be reminded of His many blessings as some of the most famous Gaither Voices sing the classic hymn, ‘Blessed Assurance.’
This hymn was written in 1873 by Fanny Crosby with music by Phoebe Knapp. The story began when Phoebe was visiting Fanny’s house one day and she played her a tune on the piano.
Phoebe asked Fanny what it sounded like and Fanny immediately replied, ‘Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine!’ They continued to finish the composition and create the hymn that we all know and love today.
“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood."
This 1997 video features some of our favorite Gaither vocalists and they are using their God-given talents to worship the Lord with this beautiful rendition of ‘Blessed Assurance.’
Just listen as they belt out these words of love and praise to our King.
“This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.”
What a perfect way to remember that God is our Savior and His strength runs through each and every one of us. When God is by our side, there is no obstacle too big to face.
1 John 5:13 “These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
