‘Heaven Sent’ Pure Flix Movie Trailer
Dating can be a difficult and, at times, awkward activity. Dating is also a process that usually involves a lot of trial and error. It can be exhausting trying to find “the one.” One new film tackles the often-grueling process of dating from a Christian perspective.
Heaven Sent is a faith-based, Pure Flix original film. The film’s trailer begins by introducing one of the film’s two main characters – Elise.
In one of the first scenes, a friend of Elise’s cuts to the chase and gets direct, as most good friends often do.
“We’ve known each other a long time, right,” the woman asks. “When was the last time you had a man, Elise?”
Elise, who refuses to answer the question directly, is obviously still hurting from a past experience.
“Sometimes it is a good thing God doesn’t answer your prayers,” Elise says.
Elise, in later scenes, makes even more excuses why she has essentially given up on finding someone. Between her small business and her grandson, Elise states that “her cup is overflowing.”
Next, we’re introduced to Pastor Patrick Briggs. Pastor Briggs is a widow who has also given up on the possibility of finding love again.
Even though they may have been apprehensive and resistant, Elise and Pastor Briggs decide to give dating a try. We see them both at a speed dating event. But things apparently don’t go well. The trailer shows Elise leaving abruptly.
Despite their less-than-perfect first attempt to get back into the dating scene, Pastor Briggs later shows up at Elise’s shop.
“Can you help me? I’m a bit lost. Are you free for lunch?” Pastor Briggs asks Elise.
What follows is a montage showing Pastor Briggs and Elise at dinner, enjoying a drive together and watching a movie on the couch.
As the trailer to the upcoming film points out, sometimes “faith can change the game.”
Heaven Sent, the Pure Flix original film, will be available on the streaming service beginning February 3.
2 Timothy 2:22 “But keep yourself from those desires of the flesh which are strong when the body is young, and go after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those whose prayers go up to the Lord from a clean heart.”
