A woman in Florida had a very unexpected and unwelcome houseguest in the form of an 8-foot alligator.

Everyone has things they are afraid of, and if they encounter them, they will most likely run in the other direction, screaming at the top of their lungs. For some individuals, spiders are a big fear. Other people have an incredible fear of enclosed spaces or something else that is entirely understandable.

However, no matter what someone may be afraid of, some fears seem fairly universal. No one is really fond of snakes, and the other one is alligators. People have these fears and still choose to live in Florida. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, a woman tells Kelly Clarkson about the terrifying time an 8-foot-long alligator broke into her Florida house. The woman was at home watching TV when she heard a noise at the door. 

The noise turned out to be a giant alligator who had entered Mary's home. When Mary realized who and what had just entered her home, she grabbed her cell phone, ran outside and immediately dialed 911.

Even with the alligator in her home, Mary went back in several times to check on the reptile’s activities and to take a couple of photos to document the surreal incident. 

Despite living in Florida, where alligators are spotted from time to time, Mary says that this is not a regular occurrence in the Sunshine State.

“No, as a matter of fact, several natives, native Floridians, and nobody has ever heard of an alligator in the house,” Mary said. 

Regular occurrence or not, if an alligator finds its way into my home, I’m moving to a different state immediately. 

The alligator situation was not all bad for Mary. She told Kelly that she is relatively new to her neighborhood, having only lived there for a couple of years. This incident has given her the opportunity to meet several people in the neighborhood.
