A curious cat’s comical and ingenious door-opening maneuver was captured on video.

Animals have a way of surprising, entertaining, and finding their way into our hearts. Anyone who has had the privilege of being a pet owner knows this. Those creatures are unique and fascinating. 

When thinking about pets, most people likely imagine dogs and cats. Dogs and cats are the most common animals raised as pets; as such, they star in most animal videos on social media. One could spend hours on YouTube watching hilarious cat and dog videos, viewing all the crazy, insane and hysterical things felines and canines have been caught on camera doing. Cat videos alone are likely 90-95 of all the videos on YouTube. 

One video making the rounds on social media features what else but a cat The clip shows the clever cat carefully planning and then executing its daring escape. The short 24-second clip begins with the full-grown black cat standing on a dresser, facing a closed door as it meows and whines. The cat desperately wants out of that room. 

One look at this video and the cat and it’s clear what this feline is thinking. This cat wants to get out of the room and knows what it must do but seems to be weighing the risks. Is it worth jumping toward the door and potentially injuring itself? 

The cat inches closer and closer to the dresser's edge and then eventually jumps, hitting the handle and opening the door. Once back on the ground, the cat pushes the door slightly open before exiting the room.

But the black cat that executed its escape plan to perfection was not the only feline in the room. Seconds before the video ends, a gray-colored cat hits the floor and scurries out of the room.

Cats are fairly intelligent creatures and always seem to find a way to achieve their goals.
