In Today's sermon, Pastor Jim Rhodes concludes this 3 part series with the important role that Church Membership has on the Christian life. The Church is a divine establishment created by Jesus specifically for the encouragement, nourishment, and healing of Christians. Fellowship and relationships in church enable us to receive help from the rest of the body, and to be that help when others are in need. The Church is a great place to learn to die to ourselves. Church membership brings security where we know that others are there for us - we are not alone. We have a place to go where we know that other people love us and will look at one another, check on one another, and serve one another in our needs and out of our abundance. It is the venue in which we can use the gifts and talents that God has given to us to minister to one another. It is in the context of Church that we are better able to bear one another's burdens. The Church helps us to stay attached to one another - this leads to unity. The Church keeps us anchored in Jesus - this leads to purity. Purity and Unity leads to Believability. And if we are to live out our calling to go forth into the world, making disciples of the nations, we need to be believable.
