Mother Wows with Incredible Aerosmith Cover on BGT

Check out this talented mother’s beautiful and heartfelt rendition of Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ on ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ You can’t deny the bond a mother has with her child, and when you hear Alexandra Barrett sing on stage and picture her singing the words in this song to her baby girl, it will be hard not to feel those tears welling up in your eyes.

‘Don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing’

What an emotional rendition of this song! Alexandra Barrett, the mother singing in this video, says that her daughter was the reason she decided to audition for Britain's Got Talent.

“I had my baby last year. She’s 19 months, and I sing to her non-stop,” Alexandra shares.

Amanda Holden, one of the BGT judges, asks Alexandra what she hopes will come from being on the stage at Britain’s Got Talent, and this is how she responds: “Not only I can give my beautiful daughter the world, it’s what we want to do with our kids, right? I could just stand here and do what I love.”

When Alexandra starts singing ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,’ her wonderful voice really conveys the love in her heart for her baby girl.

“Alexandra, listening to the lyrics of that song, and thinking of you actually singing them to a baby, it was so poignant, I’ve never thought of it that way before. And I also want to say, while she’s 19 months, hang on cause it flies past,” Amanda Holden says, almost in tears. “They grow up so quickly. That’s such a precious time. So, that really moved me. It was beautiful, well done.”

The other judges also enjoyed Alexandra’s performance and gave her four yeses to move to the next round of the competition. Congratulations to Alexandra!
