Teen Sings 'What A Beautiful Name' In Honor Of Late Brother

This teen sings ‘What a Beautiful Name’ in honor of late brother, and I can’t hold back my tears.

Anne Wilson is a 19-year-old up and rising contemporary Christian singer. The young star was born and raised in Kentucky and became famous after her 23-year-old brother died in a car accident. Anne sang in front of an audience for the first time at her brother’s funeral.

It was at that moment she realized that she was gifted with a voice to spread the love of God.

Anne recorded her cover of ‘What a Beautiful Name’ back in 2017, when she was only 15, as a tribute to her brother. Her video easily spread and she ended up with a record deal. God worked through her tragedy to show Anne her purpose.

‘What a Beautiful Name’ was originally written by Hillsong Worship in 2015. The group played the song in concert over the next year and then released a recorded version. The song was so popular that it held the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs for over nine months!

The song also earned a Grammy for Hillsong Worship in 2017 along with a handful of other awards and nominations.

Anne Wilson sings the tune along with a group of young musicians. The video was filmed on a perfect set, surrounded by big windows with light shining through. Even though Anne’s performance was a tribute to the tragic loss of her brother, Jacob, her video manages to communicate the hope that comes with faith.

Anne’s voice sharing the power of God is just like a light in the dark, and I hope she continues to share her gift with the world.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:15-20
