Emeka Onyema, a.k.a Vizion, is an independent music producer and recording artist based in the United Kingdom. In 2003, he set up Stone Built Productions (an independent music production company and recording studio) and in 2004, launched his career as a secular rap artist, with the release of his first double sided single "Evil Streets/Real Entertainment". Real Entertainment made its debut on London's Choice FM 96.9 (UK) on the 18th of September 2004, during the Lucy Ambache show. It was instantly embraced by the stations listeners and continued to receive air play.
In 2005, He had an experience that caused him to turn to God for answers. In his words, "I was rescued by His grace and became a new man, a born again Christian with new wisdom". So he progressed from his hard-core, hip-hop roots to release the inspirational, radio friendly single "Call On Me (I'll Be There For You)", a song about calling on God as well as one another during times of difficulty. The song made its debut on Choice FM 96.9 on the 8th of May 2005, during Dave Ps Positive Inspiration show. It also received regular air play on Voice Of Africa Radio (a popular internet station in the UK). Vizion decided that his music would be used for the glorification of God and reintroduced himself to his audience as a Holy hip hop/gospel artist, performing and ministering the word of God at Churches, Christian events, colleges and correctional facilities around the United Kingdom.
Vizion's last CD "Merciful God/Never Too Late" was released to record stores within the UK on the 7th of April 2006. It was also released to iTunes, Napster and all major digital music stores, in February 2007. Tracks from the CD have been aired on UK and international radio stations including: Choice FM 96.9 (UK), Premier Christian Radio (UK), Cross Rhythms Radio (UK), 93.7 Rhythm FM (Nigeria) and Cool FM 96.9 (Nigeria). The video of Merciful God has also been aired internationally on TV stations including: B.E.T (United States), God TV, B.E.N TV, Revelation TV, Genesis TV, R Music TV, O.B.E TV and A.I.T International.
On the 1st of February 07, "Merciful God" was nominated as a finalist in The International Songwriting Competition. Vizion was the only UK based finalist in the Gospel/Christian Category and was also nominated for the People's Voice Award.
Vizion made numerous live appearances in 2006. He was invited twice, to perform on the popular cable channel, R Music TV. He performed at annual events such as the Enfield Gospel Festival, the Soul 100 Concerts and the Barnet Peace Week Concert. He is also committed to encouraging and ministering to prisoners and has taken his music into correctional facilities such as; HMP Belmarsh, HMP Guys and Marsh (Dorset), HMP Bullwood Hall, HMP Brixton and HMP Rochester.
"I believe Christian Rap is a very influential tool in bringing the young generation back to God. My songs are usually emotional in order to soften the hearts of the listeners and supress any defensive attitudes towards Christianity. I think it is important to keep my music just as catchy and innovative as those of the leading secular artists and display lyrical sharpness. However, the purpose is to provoke the thoughts of unbelievers.- Vizion
