I have been playing instruments for as long as I can remember. I have played in bands and performed solo for many years. I try to write about real life with all of its ups and downs, crushing blows and beautiful moments. I’m really not that interested in entertaining, which is why I’d rather produce music than play live.
If I had to sum up my story in a sentence it would be “You can’t find your purpose until you find the One that gave it to you.” Artists struggle with deeper meanings. It’s not enough to hold down a job or a career, pay the bills and retire. We have to be about something real and penetrating. We have issues in life because we feel deeply and need to express those feelings. Many have turned to alcohol and drugs to find a bit of silence, a bit of peace, as did I.
I was never able to really rest, never quite at home until I discovered an Inner Life. That there was a communion deeper than that of friends and family... a friendship; a love and acceptance that was greater than anything I had ever experienced. That there was a God and He wanted me to connect with Him, live with Him, grow up under His love. I didn’t find Christ in church necessarily; I found Him in life.
I’m not really into religion... I think religion has done much harm in people’s lives and wherever people gather in the name of religion, there is a danger of us turning inward and shunning those we are supposed to be loving. I prefer a daily moment by moment relationship with Jesus Christ. He’s my hero, mentor, teacher, best friend and I call Him Lord.
Anyway, I write about the stuff of life and I hope you’ll get something out of it..
Tim

A Prayer to Commemorate Memorial Day - Your Daily Prayer - May 25

Commemorating Memorial Day is vital to America’s future and to not forget our military men and women who served and fought for our country throughout the decades: to reflect on, remember, remind, and recognize the fight, the cost, the sorrow, and the sacrifices, how they have paid dearly with their lives, so that we may live and enjoy the blessings of freedom today.
