One Dad’s Hilarious Trick for Handling Meltdowns in Public

One dad has a hilarious trick for handling meltdowns in public. He adds that his method is extraordinarily effective and has not failed him yet. Watch the short and hysterical clip to hear what this father does whenever children throw a tantrum for all to see.

Being a parent is one of, if not the biggest, and best blessings anyone can receive. There is nothing like watching your youngster grow, learn and explore. They are experiencing everything for the first time, and you have a front-row seat to it. What could be better than that? No parent would trade those precious moments for anything in the world.

While being a parent is wonderful and brings much joy and a lot of happiness, that doesn’t mean every moment is memorable. Parenthood comes with its own somewhat extensive list of challenges and difficulties. Of course, one of the most feared and challenging situations for every parent is public meltdowns and temper tantrums.

Unfortunately, your child will become upset and throw a fit for all to see. It will happen sooner or later—a fact that every experienced parent knows and understands to be 100 percent true. It will no doubt be embarrassing as you quickly try to calm and quiet your children while everyone in the mall, bank or grocery store watches. However, in a clip posted on YouTube, one father explains that he has developed a fail-proof, highly effective method for quickly ending those public meltdowns.

“This is what we do, as a community: we come together,” he added. “This is a trick that I do. All the parents I’ve ever done it for have no idea that I’ve done it, and I am a saint, and I walk off feeling like an angel. Usually, when that parent is trying to, like, drag the kid by hand or they’ve got them up here, the kid’s face is facing the opposite way to the parent.”

This is when he lends a helping hand to the parent struggling to calm their child. He even demonstrated what he does during that moment.

“So, the parent’s walking, trying to drag them, and the kid’s like, ‘Ah!’” he added. “What I will do, because the parent can’t see me do this, I’ll just be walking down the grocery store, and I’ll see the kid up there and the kid’s screaming, and I just go.”

He says that his authoritative look and gesture immediately cause the child to stop their tantrum immediately.

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old, he will not be turned away from it.”
