“There Is Power in the Blood” was written by Lewis Edgar Jones during a camp meeting at Mountain Lake Park, Maryland. The song was later purchased by hymn writer and publisher Henry Lake Gilmour and first appeared in Songs of Praise and Victory, a collection assembled in Philadelphia for the Pepper Publishing Company by Gilmour and William James Kirkpatrick.
