Your Nightly Prayer: Evening Prayers for Christians
Your Nightly PrayerPeace That Guides the New Year
January 9, 2026 ● 6 minShare this episode
In this episode of Your Nightly Prayer, Angie Grant's devotional peace guides us into the new year, reminding us that God's peace is like a fresh box of crayons - full of possibilities and order. Just as a new box of crayons brings creativity without fear of needing to be perfect, God's peace tells us we don't have to be perfect, just stay with Him. We can walk into a new season or year with courage and joy, trusting His peace to guide our steps.
TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE
"Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7
THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON
1. What areas of my life do I most need a "fresh start" this year, and how might inviting God's peace into those areas help change my perspective?
2. What feels out of order in my heart or mind? How can I surrender those places to experience the steadiness of God's peace?
3. What new thing do I sense God inviting me into? How can I best trust the peace of God to help guide my steps as I move forward into new territory?

Today's Devotional
A Prayer for Resurrection in the Areas I Thought Were Dead - Your Daily Prayer - April 2
Just as Jesus rose from the grave, God can breathe life into the areas of our lives that feel buried. No matter how devastating the loss, when we seek Him in our disappointment and pain, we will begin to see dry bones stir.
