Your Nightly Prayer: Evening Prayers for Christians
Your Nightly PrayerLearning to Love Your Neighbor
February 13, 2026 ● 7 minShare this episode
Jesus’ command to love our neighbor as ourselves invites us into a deeper, more honest look at how we love—both outwardly and inwardly. This episode reflects on the realization that loving others well is inseparable from learning to see ourselves as God sees us: beloved, worthy of care, and formed by His hand. When our love is measured by earthly standards, it becomes selective and strained. But when it is rooted in God’s lavish, impartial love, it transforms how we treat ourselves and everyone around us. Tonight’s meditation reminds us that Christ embodied this love perfectly, and as we learn to live as beloved children, His compassion and grace can flow freely through us—changing lives one neighbor at a time.

TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” - Mark 12:31
Your Evening Prayer
Father,
Thank You for calling me Your beloved child and for pouring out Your love on me so freely. Teach me to receive that love fully, especially on the days when I struggle to see myself the way You see me. Forgive me for the times my lack of self-love has spilled into how I’ve treated others. Holy Spirit, help me live as one who is deeply loved, so that I can love my neighbor with the same grace and patience You show me. Shape my heart to reflect Christ’s compassion, and give me opportunities to sow love, mercy, and kindness wherever You place me. Grow me, Lord, and make me more like You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Resurrection in the Areas I Thought Were Dead - Your Daily Prayer - April 2
Just as Jesus rose from the grave, God can breathe life into the areas of our lives that feel buried. No matter how devastating the loss, when we seek Him in our disappointment and pain, we will begin to see dry bones stir.
