To wrap up season ten of The Bible Explain podcast, Jenn dives into the last four kings of Judah's history before their exile to Babylon. From the rise of powerful, Babylonian rulers to the decline of Judah's kings, we'll discuss how these leaders fit into the larger narrative of God's plan:

  • Egypt makes Judah a vassal state and dethrones the current king
  • Pharaoh Neco instates Jehoiakim, Josiah's son, as a puppet ruler
  • Jehoiakim is an evil king who kills prophets, taxes the people to oblivion, builds mansions for himself, uses his own people as slave labor, and burns God's word.
  • Babylon kills Jehoiakim and dethrones the next Judahite king

Perhaps you find yourself praying small requests, because then God is more likely to answer. Jeremiah 33:3 encourages us not to limit God’s power to the extent of what we understand. God’s power far exceeds what we know.
