Hey Friend!

Not long ago I was having lunch with a girlfriend and our discussion turned to a tough decision she had to make. Though she wasn’t sure about what to do, she was sure she wanted to make a decision she wouldn’t later regret. She leaned across the table and wondered aloud, "How do I know if this is God's will for my life?"

That’s the question we all have, isn't it?

Well, that’s the question we’ll answer in today’s episode. This will be the first of a two-part series where we'll take a deep dive at the principles found in the Bible to help us determine God’s will. I’m praying God uses these words to speak directly into your life, your circumstances, and your specific need for wisdom.

xo,

Donna

  • {05:00} Principle #1: Pray for Wisdom (James 1:5)“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously… and it will be given to you.”  James 1:5
  • {06:00} Principle #2:  Pre-determine to Obey God ( Rom 12:1-2)“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
  • {08:38} Principle #3: Get As Much Information as Possible (Prov 15:22)“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” Proverbs 15:22
  • {12:25} Principle #4: Go With Your Spirit-Filled Intuition (Psalm 37:22-23)“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Psalm 37:22-23 NLT
  • {14:51} Principle #5 Don’t Make a Decision Based Soley on Emotion (Prov 13:16“Wise people think before they act” Proverbs 13:16a

Favorite Quotes :

The ability to discern God’s will for our life is largely determined by our commitment to follow His plan for our life.

Never make a decision today that a good night’s sleep might make you regret tomorrow.

Good decisions come from godly advice.

God promises that if you ask Him for wisdom, He will give it.
