1 Peter 3:15 commands us to sanctify the Lord God in our hearts and to always be ready to give each woman or man an answer (apologia), a reason for the hope that is in us and to do so with gentleness and respect. The word answer in this passage is the Greek word apologia.  It means to defend or to give an answer to those that have questions about the Christian faith.
