Let’s go back to the beginning, where it was good - very good.

Genesis says, "God created them; male and female he created them."

And God gave them the job of ruling and reigning together.

This passage may be familiar to you. But as you hear the words, ask the Spirit to help them become new. He will guide you to notice what he has for you. His Word is living and active, so God may help you see something you haven’t noticed before.

Once you’ve listened to this Scripture Experience podcast, head to the next episode and listen to the interview with Old Testament scholar, professor, and author Carmen Joy Imes. (Releases June 7, 2023) We discuss what it means to be created in the image of God and why it matters.

Genesis 1:26-28, NIV

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
