Iconic Vocalist Janet Paschal Releases First New Single in 15 Years, 'In The Fire'

NASHVILLE, Tenn.
A two-time Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee and one of the genre’s most beloved vocalists for five decades and counting, Janet Paschal returns with “In The Fire.” Her first new single in 15 years, Paschal’s long awaited StowTown Records debut is now available on all streaming platforms.

Produced by Wayne Haun (Celine Dion, Jason Crabb) and co-penned by Paschal, Haun and Joel Lindsey, "In The Fire" is a deeply personal testament to God’s sustaining presence through life’s trials. Buoyed by the familiar warmth and resonance of Paschal's signature vocal style, the infectious anthem was inspired in part by her own journey as a breast cancer survivor: “I felt Him in a melody/That stirred my heart’s desire/But I never really knew Him/Until I met Him in the fire.”

“It is beyond exciting to return to the studio with Wayne and to partner with the amazing folks at StowTown,” Paschal shares. “God is definitely up to something!”

“When someone told me it had been over a decade since I’d been in the studio with Janet, I thought they were joking, but we picked right up where we left off 16 years ago,” adds single producer and co-writer Wayne Haun. “Her voice is as beautiful as ever. And as the old saying goes, you truly can’t make old friends.”

Paschal and Haun, who have collaborated on numerous recordings through the years, are currently wrapping work on her full-length StowTown Records debut. "In The Fire" will be featured on the highly anticipated album—Paschal's first all-new set since 2015's Beginnings—which is slated for release later this year.
