Daniel Mulkey Releases New Single “Pass It On,” A Reflection on Faith, Fatherhood, and Legacy

Singer-songwriter Daniel Mulkey has released his new single, “Pass It On,” now available on all major streaming platforms.

Written from his perspective as a young father, “Pass It On” captures the weight of responsibility, humility, and faith that comes with raising children in a world full of noise and pressure. The song was inspired by a moment shortly after the birth of Mulkey’s son.

“I remember holding him and asking God, What do I pass on?” Mulkey shares. “I didn’t feel like I had life figured out. At the age of 22, I felt like a kid myself.”

Rather than focusing on achievement or success, “Pass It On” centers on the belief that faith, character, and love are the most important things a parent can leave behind. The song reflects Mulkey’s journey balancing work, family, and calling — and the realization that providing materially means little if it costs presence and purpose.

“In prayer, I felt God impress on my heart, ‘As long as you pass on a love for Me, you’ve given him everything he will ever need,’” Mulkey says. “That changed how I view fatherhood and success.”

“Pass It On” has already connected strongly with listeners in live settings, where Mulkey is known for honest storytelling and personal performances. In November, he performed the song live at The Forum opening for CROWDER, sharing the story behind the song before delivering an acoustic performance that resonated deeply with the audience.
