Bethel Music’s Kristene DiMarco Releases New Single 'Memorandum'

Bethel Music’s Kristene DiMarco releases her latest EP, “MEMORANDUM,” on all major streaming platforms today. Accompanying the release is the official music video for the focus track, “Stay In The River,” premiering today as well.

“Stay In The River” invites listeners to remain in the river of God’s presence, where His kindness and love continually wash over us. It reminds listeners that surrender is not something to fear, but a place of trust, where His friendship gently shapes and softens our hearts.

“One of the themes that kept surfacing was surrender,” says DiMarco. “This letting go. Don’t be afraid to let go. Stay in the river. Stay under the water. Let Him do what He wants. Let Him soften all those hard edges.”

The five-track project follows her previously released single, “Song For My Children,” which also appears on the EP “MEMORANDUM.” This latest offering from DiMarco features songs that were written individually, but reveal a common thread woven through them: humility and surrender. Through raw honesty and tender worship, DiMarco invites listeners into the kind of closeness that only comes through surrender – where letting go becomes the doorway to deeper closeness with the Holy Spirit.

Recorded in the intimacy of her own home, “MEMORANDUM” carries the weight of legacy and the warmth of family, with every lyric anchored in Scripture and personal testimony. Songs like “Stay In The River” and “Letter To Doubt And Unbelief” speak to the ongoing journey of softening hearts, leaving behind unbelief, and embracing the flow of God’s Spirit.

“When I wrote these songs, I wrote them as individual songs. I didn’t think they would all end up on the same project,” DiMarco said. “But the further we moved forward with it, the more I began to recognize a theme running through them. And really, that theme is humility. If you asked me, ‘What has God taught you?’– well, I just turned forty this year. And the main thing I feel I’m walking away with after four decades of life is this: God is after surrender. He’s after us laying down our lives. And it’s not because He’s selfish or demanding, as if He just has to have everything. It’s because surrender equals proximity to the Lord. The more you lay down, the more you let go, the closer you can get. The closer you draw to Him, the more you experience His Spirit. And that’s what life is really about.”

At its core, “MEMORANDUM” is less about striving and more about overflow – a reminder that our truest calling is simply to come, drink deeply of His presence, and let rivers of living water flow from within. With humility as its center, this project is an offering of friendship with God, shaped by surrender and marked by His nearness.
