Anne Wilson Releases Final Preview Of New Album With Soul-Baring Track 'Carry Me'

NASHVILLE, Tenn.
PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson bares all in the final release ahead of her highly anticipated new album Stars. “Carry Me,” available everywhere today, is a strikingly personal ballad written by Wilson with longtime collaborators Jeff Pardo, Matthew West and Trannie Anderson.

Stepping into some of the most vulnerable songwriting of her career, Wilson peels back the layers of her own story, delivering a raw reflection of growing up too fast and feeling the weight of the world on her shoulders. The song swells into a prayer, asking Jesus to take on what feels too heavy to hold alone. It arrives with a moving new music video, available now.

“'Carry Me' is one of the most personal songs I've ever written,” shares Wilson. “When my brother Jacob passed away, I was forced to grow up fast. Not long after, I signed a record deal and felt the heavy pressures that came with it. In the middle of all of that, I realized I was never meant to carry the weight of the world on my own – Jesus is the One who carries me. Even now, when I look around at the brokenness and pain in our world, that same heaviness creeps in. It's easy to wonder how we'll ever make it through. But this song is my reminder that the same God who carried me in my darkest season is the same God carrying us today. He promises to lift our burdens and give us rest, and that's where my hope will always be.”

The song arrives as the final sneak peek into her highly anticipated third album Stars, arriving Oct. 17 via Capitol Christian Music Group. She recently introduced the project with its title track – a song that threads together her childhood dream of becoming an astronaut with the real-life journey she has walked: grappling with the loss of her brother Jacob, choosing to hold onto faith in the aftermath and learning to see God's presence reflected in both the night sky and her own story. Early praise is already building, with Holler applauding “Stars” as “a rousing, autobiographical record that keeps Wilson's spirituality at its heart while showcasing her powerhouse voice and a refreshingly broad range of stylistic influences.”

Across its 12 tracks – all co-written by Wilson – Stars finds the Kentucky native stepping fully into her own as a storyteller, blending the grit of country with the hope of faith in a way that is entirely her own. The coming-of-age collection brings together frequent collaborators Jeff Pardo and Matthew West, alongside Trannie Anderson, Blake Pendergrass, Emily Weisband and Andy Albert. Wilson will bring the new songs to life on The STARS Tour, beginning Oct. 18 in Nashville at The Pinnacle. Tickets are available now at annewilsonofficial.com.

Wilson recently expanded her message of hope and identity beyond her music with the release of her first devotional, Hey Girl: You Are Seen, Loved, and Made for More via K-LOVE books. The 40-day journey was created to help young women discover their true worth and unshakeable identity in Christ.

With Stars on the horizon, Wilson is set to deliver her most panoramic work yet – a record of grief and growth, wonder that refuses to dim and faith that continues to guide her forward. Stay up to date at annewilsonofficial.com and keep up with her on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
