I am a single mom divorced out of an abusive marriage many years ago. He was a drunk, drug user, liar and committing adultery. We had one son, Nathan, whom I loved dearly. My ex was put in prison when Nathan was four, almost five for a violent crime against a young lady, teenager actually and neither Nathan or I have seen him since. I know this might sound odd, but him being put in prison was an answered prayer as the emotional and verbal abuse was still going on. My son has struggled to recover from this abuse ...its taken a long time. He is doing much better now through prayers and spiritual warfare. He is eleven now. I am an older mom, I am 46 and disabled with back problems and low blood sugar problems. When he is gone at school I spend alot of time studying the bible, doing bible apologetics, debates, discussions and online witnessing. My son and I both have learning disabilities also..dyslexia, so I don't always read things quite write, especially if I am tired or sick, but generally do ok. If it hadn't been for our Rock, Jesus Christ, we wouldn't have gotten through some of the very difficult trials we have endured. He has certainly 'saved' us in more ways then one. :)
A Prayer to Humbly Serve This Maundy Thursday - Your Daily Prayer - March 28
Would you let Jesus wash your feet? Isn't it hard to imagine lifting our dirty toes to the King of Kings? None of us are worthy of his care and attention; yet in Christ's perfect love, he gives us nothing less. Does your human heart struggle like mine to serve others humbly as Jesus did?
