My name is Erik Hastings aka Erik The Travel Guy. I am the creator and host of the Emmy award-winning, nationally syndicated travel television series "Beyond Your Backyard" seen on PBS stations, The Create Channel and other cable networks and VOD channels. I am originally from Des Moines, Iowa and I moved to NYC in 1996 with nothing but...you guessed, a dream. I turned that dream into a reality with luck and lot of hard work.
