A Prayer to See God’s Blessings in Every Season
By Vivian Bricker

Bible Reading:
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Throughout the various seasons of the year, memories can reappear in our minds. Some of the seasons may hold much joy, whereas others may contain much hardship. As we are approaching the holiday season, it can be beneficial to focus on God’s blessings. Every good gift is from the Father, and it is essential for us to pay special attention to His blessings (James 1:17).

Apart from God, we would have no good thing (Psalm 16:2). When the seasons change and our lives echo these changes, we need to seek God out. Even if we are only ever going through difficult times, we can still see God’s blessings in our lives. God can use even the worst situations and turn them into something for our good (Romans 8:28). God is known for bringing life to things that are dead (Ezekiel 37).

With Thanksgiving approaching, challenge yourself to see the beauty of God’s blessings. This is something I'm personally trying to do, as I am currently struggling to see goodness in my life.

My sister recently showed me her monthly calendar, and this year, her calendar’s theme is Paddington Bear. In the picture for this month, Paddington has fallen on the ground with the caption, “Why do bad things always happen to me?” While it was a silly picture, it did resonate with me as I often find myself asking that question.

Sometimes it can be challenging to see God’s blessings. Maybe you have also been having this struggle, and you cannot see the goodness of God this season. With prayer and hope, the tides will change; however, even if they don't, know that God is still always with you. Through every hill and valley, He is right there (Psalm 23:1-6).

The Bible tells us, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). When we look at this focus passage, we see wisdom shining through. There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under Heaven. This means that the present season we are in won't last forever. Every season has its time and place, and it will eventually come to an end. Maybe it doesn't feel the best right now, but it won't last forever.

Try to see God’s blessings despite the hardships of this world and trust in His kindness, faithfulness, and love. God is our good, good Father who genuinely wants what is best for us. Search out ways to see His blessings this season and also go to Him in prayer. Pray that God will show you His blessings and surround you with His love. In truth, God’s love is the greatest blessing of all, and He richly pours it out on all of us (Romans 8:37-39). If you're unsure how to reach out to God in prayer today, we can go to Him in prayer together.

Let's Pray:

Dear God, help me to see Your blessings in every season. Although this present season feels heavy, allow me to see You. Your blessings are always around me, and they fill me with much joy. Despite the difficult hardships and struggles I'm facing right now, I turn my focus to You.

Shield my heart from negativity and help me to see Your blessings. I know they are always around me, just as Your presence always surrounds me. Walk with me as I enter this new season and help me to remember that You are eternally with me. There is time and a place for everything, and I praise You that You are the orchestrator behind them all.

In Your Son’s Name, I pray, Amen.

When war dominates the headlines, parents are left asking an important question: How do we talk to our kids about it? In this episode of March or Die, Jeremy Stalnecker shares practical and biblical principles for guiding young people through confusing and frightening global events.

Drawing from his experience as a Marine who lived through the wars following 9/11, Jeremy explains why moments of global conflict can become powerful opportunities for parents to teach their children about courage, faith, and moral clarity. Rather than avoiding difficult conversations, parents can use them to help their kids understand fear, the reality of evil in the world, and the responsibility we have to stand for what is right.

This conversation explores how parents can alleviate fear, explain why conflict exists, and demonstrate a faith-filled response when the world seems chaotic. Jeremy also discusses the importance of teaching children the difference between necessary and unnecessary violence, why standing against evil matters, and how faith in God provides stability even in uncertain times.
