A Prayer to Reflect Christ to the Next Generation

Bible Reading:
“We will not hide them from their children, but rather tell the coming generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.” - Psalms 78:4

Why would I ever forget God? No one starts their Christian life believing that, as time progresses, they will forget God’s power and mighty wonders. The Israelite nation, God’s chosen people and the apple of his eye, forgot to pass on the goodness of God. You may be thinking, of course, they told them about how the Red Sea parted or about the cloud of fire by night and the cool cloud by day. Perhaps they told them about how God caused the walls of Jericho to fall and defeated all their enemies.
What I believed didn’t happen was a failure to reflect the goodness of God in their lives. This is why it is so important to reflect Christ in our lives. Look at your life, does it reflect God’s power and mighty wonders? Does your life match the words that come out of your mouth? Are you faithful? Can the younger generation name you among the people who live a life pleasing unto God, whose talk matches their walk? Can they say, 'You will be in church serving, supporting, and being a blessing to those who need encouragement'?
I’m so thankful that the churches I have been a part of have had faithful women and men who reflected Christ at all times. I witnessed many people going through great sorrows with the joy of the Lord on their faces. I’ve observed them at church, in the grocery stores, and in their homes. They are a part of the great cloud of witnesses mentioned in Hebrews 12. If you have been reflecting Christ to the next generation, you are doing an awesome job. Don't hide the truth from our children; do tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.
Let’s Pray:
Dear God of heaven’s armies, I humbly come before you. Thank you for your unfailing love that continues from generation to generation. You have told me to be a light to this dark world, so help me to be a light to the next generation of young believers serving you. Cleanse me so I can empty myself and allow you to fill me up so I can reflect you at home, at work, at church, and in everything I do. Help me to befriend them, give me wisdom to answer their questions, and advise them according to your will. May my walk match my talk and glorify you, Oh Lord. In Jesus' name, amen!
