The story of the “Passover” in Exodus chapter 12 appears, at first glance, to be a story of how God set the Israelites free from slavery in Egypt. In reality, however, it is a story of how God has set us all free by the great gift of life He has given us through Jesus Christ. The “Passover” is also a reminder to us of the terrible tragedy that awaits all who have yet to be set free by God’s grace. Exodus 12:21-30; Luke 22:19-20; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Romans 10:9-15.
