Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

image All I am saying is that Lincoln created the holiday with that in mind. Are you going to tell he is wrong, when he,the creator of the holiday, wrote out what he had in mind for his creation? Do you not believe in Abraham Lincoln either? I think your the one looking for flying snakes. The reason to point out sin to unbelievers is for them to realize they need a saviour. If they reject that, then who cares what they do, what exactly are we supposed to be tolerant of? Dont worry, the way America is going you'll be able to have me arrested for saying homosexuality is a sin, as a hate crime soon enough.

image Homophobic? Did you read what I said? I believe homosexuality is a choice, just like adultery is a choice, lying is a choice, stealing is a choice. If your going to call me anything call me sinaphobic.Yes I believe ALL of the bible, I dont pick out the parts that suite me. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, by the way do you know the reason for Thanksgiving and who we're giving thanks to? "I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens." Thats a quote from President Lincoln's 1863 Thanksgiving proclamation, check out the whole thing here --> http://showcase.netins.net/web/creative/lincoln/speeches/thanks.htm

image Out of that entire response you want to focus on the last sentence? Dont confuse fact with popular opinion of the day... oh wait thats how are whole discussion started, my bad. In my opinion I would be much more concerned about how I am with God than what is sin or not. If you truely seek the Lord he is faithful to reveal himself, but the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.

image On your questions, God judges a man on three counts: 1. Did He worship? In response to the revelation in nature which he had, did he worship the onetrue God ? 2. Did he obey? In response to the revelation in conscience which he had, did he sincerely obey God's commands? 3. Would he have trusted Christ if he had heard? God bases His judgement on what would have happened if someone had heard the gospel. It is part of His omniscience to know not only what will happen, but also what would happen if a different set of circumstances were to occur. Jesus states this clearly in Matt, 11: 21-23: "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in dust and ashes. But I tell you it will be more tolerable on the day of judgement for Tyre and Sidon than for you." Chorazin and Bethsaida were towns in Galilee where He had done preaching and miracles. They remained hard and unrepentant. But He knew that the pagan cities of Tyre and Sidon would have responded differently given the opportunity. This would be taken into account on the day of judgement. God gets no satisfaction out of condemning anybody. "I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God; so turn and live" Ezek. 18: 32, He also will judge Christians for failure to carry the good news to everyone. Homosexuality is a sin. No better or worse than any other type of sin.

image You know you keep saying Jesus brought an age of peace, and I let it go the first time. Do I need to remind you of the time Jesus came and more to the point what happened after he ascended? Foxe's Book of Martyrs reports that, of the eleven remaining Apostles (since Judas Iscariot had already killed himself), only one- John, the son of Zebedee and Salome, the younger brother of James and the writer of the Book of Revelation- died of natural causes in exile. The other ten were reportedly martyred by various means including beheading, by sword and spear and, in the case of Peter, crucifixion upside down following the execution of his wife. A great fire ravaged Rome in 64 C.E., destroying about a fourth of the city. A rumor circulated that Nero was responsible and, according to Roman historian Tacitus, Nero tried to protect himself by placing the blame on the Christians. (The Annals, XV, XLIV) M!@% arrests followed, and Christians as well as those suspected of being Christians were tortured, put to death in large numbers, some even being burned alive in public. This appears to have marked the start of a great wave of persecution, not from religious opposers, but from political sources bent on exterminating the Christian congregation. Jesus was a scandalous rebel hated by jew and gentile. So when you say Jesus ushered in an "age of peace" please explain what you mean because I have no idea what your talking about.

image "A man who was merely a man and said the things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was and is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

image My apologies, I should have clarified, Morals play no part in a persons salvation in MY religion. I can not speak for others, and no, not all religions are pursuing the same God. So when you say religion is to blame for most wars I would say to you the devil is behind most religions, in my view. Now Im not saying christians are perfect, far from it, but the one we put our faith in. is perfect. You can point out all the atrocities done in the name of Christ by man, but that is still man. So I guess my last question to you is who do you say Jesus is?

tbraz Jun 01, 2007
image "Saying that religion makes people commit atrocities, which is a FACT, not an opinion, is not nearly the same thing as mind control." So your point of view is that if a person is religous it is just a matter of time before they commit some atrocity? Or is it any nut case that claims religion as there motivation somehow different than some nut case that doesnt claim reliogion. As far as nearly all wars being because of religion, thats a pretty profound statement without a shred of evidence, and one Im not to sure about but Ill let that one go. Could it not be argued that from a darwinist perpective hitler was just helping the process? I mean what happens if we get to many handicapped and mentally challeged people walking around, they may become dominant species.I know I know, you guys dont like to look at that side of it. and by the way morals have NOTHING to do with your eternal destination.

tbraz Jun 01, 2007
image "He is saying that it makes more sense to look for reason, rather than complete lack thereof." Theres the line darwinists cant cross, what if God is the reason. Religion makes people commit atrocities is a fact?! Your joking, right? Have atrocities been commited in the name of religion? Of course, but many atrocities didnt need any religion at all. I could lay out how Hitler used evolution to justify atrocities he commited. Which brings up another point, why are they atrocities at all in your eyes? Are you willing to admit to existence of morals? and if you are can you prove them scientifically? How about mathmatics and logic, metaphysical truths, or even science itself cannot be proven by science. Yet those are undeniable realities, right? Why do you want me to answer questions on why the church did this or that? I dont know, the church has a lot to answer for, believe me, but like you said, the facts are undeniable, the truth is still the truth. I could say why did scientests believe the world is flat and sat on the back of a large turtle, I know the church was always against both of those theroies. Because the bible says that the earth is round and hangs upon nothing. Radical ideas way back then, and Im not talking 100 years. People have been trying to disprove the bible for over 3,000 years. But that brings up another whole argument I dont think you even want to dabble in.

image By Dawkins I !$#ume you mean Richard Dawkins professor of zoology at Oxfard Univeristy. Richard Dawkins who wrote in his book The Blind Watchmaker and I quote "Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearence of having been designed for a purpose." So he freely admits that when it comes to Biology observstion should not be trusted. SCIENCE - noun - systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation. Doesnt sound very scientific for a scientest and doesnt make much sense until you hear this next quote from him. "philosophical commitment to materialism and reductionism is true, but I would prefer to characterize it as a philosophical commitment to a real explanation as opposed to a complete lack of an explanation, which is what you espouse." So there you have the darwinist dogma. At least he can admit he isnt objective. Lets not forget our friend the late great Stephen Jay Gould, who wrote "The history of most fossil species include two features particularly inconsistent with gradualism: 1). Stasis. Most species exhibit no directional change during their tenure on erath. They appear in the fossil record looking much the same as when they disappear; Morphological change is usually limited and directionless.2).Sudden Appearence. In any local area, a species does not arise gradually by the steady transformation of it ancestors; it appears all at once and fully formed.' Look, is creationists view provable? No, but either is any other view of origin. The question of origin is not just an intellectual one because to have to admit a God is somthing some people refuse to accept, I get that. But to say a darwinist view is objective science is a downright falsehood. They have a anti religous agenda and if your in that camp so be it but dont call it science. I have one last Dawkins quote to leave you with to show his contempt torward religion. "Many of us saw religion as harmless nonsense. Beliefs might lack all supporting evidence but, we thought, if people needed a crutch for consolation, where's the harm? September 11th changed all that. Revealed faith is not harmless nonsense, it can be lethally dangerous nonsense. Dangerous because it gives people unshakeable confidence in their own righteousness. Dangerous because it gives them false courage to kill themselves, which automatically removes normal barriers to killing others. Dangerous because it teaches enmity to others labelled only by a difference of inherited tradition. And dangerous because we have all bought into a weird respect, which uniquely protects religion from normal criticism. Let's now stop being so !%$@ed respectful" He wants to control thought and that anyone who doesnt agree with him should be considerd dangerous, He reminds me of another guy in history who thought this way and got into power about seventy years ago in Germany. Although you still havent brought up one single thing to back up your !$#ertions except to throw scientests names at me you at least know the players. If your going to make blanket statements and baseless generalizations I will call you on it, so I suggest you do your homework first.

image Ok you just arent going to have a discussion are you? Once again you infer that your point of you has been proven and were all @$s. Yet you refuse you refuse to discuss it and just tell me to research it, well guess what, I have and your wrong. I could give you a list of scientests that believe in a God, just like you can give me a list that dont. So what? Why dont you take a real look at the evidence.P.S. I said I read your comments and yes they were nothing but instegating ramblings with no merit.

tbraz Jun 01, 2007
image I whole heartedly agree with you, that was my whole point!Science is a search for causes, logically there are only two types of causes: intelligent and nonintelligent (or natural). For example the grand canyon is natural cause where as mont rushmore had an intelligent one.Unfortunately, on the question of first life, darwanists rule out intelligent causes before they even look at the evidence. In other words, their conclusions are preloaded into their !umptions. Spontaneous generation by natural laws MUST be the cause of life because they consider no other option. Oh wait, you think creatiionist do that, huh? You better take a better look at you "evidence" because it all points to intelligent design.
