I'm a sculptor/Potter by trade and radical by design! I get to spend my days in praise and worship co-creating with my God. It's an honor to be an apprentice to the Master. My heart is to touch as He touches, speak as He speaks and move as He moves. I long to see the arts impact souls and promote the Gospel as never before. My desire is to begin an after school, art therapy, support ministry to Katrina victims in the area of the MISSISSIPPI State Gulf Region. These precious people received no govt funds or assistance and over 20,000 are STILL displaced. Suicide (even among children), divorce, violence, substance abuse are all up 400% in that region. No community centers or after school programs have been rebuilt. The Church has an awesome opportunity to establish after care programs in the areas most hit by disasters. We know more are to come. Rebuilding dwellings isn't enough. I want to go and rebuild lives, touch souls, and be a witness for the God who doesn't leave with the camera crews.
You Are Not Forgotten
We know the Bible says that we will see many natural and man made disasters in the future. Katrina was one such wake up call. Many were impacted and the recovery has been slow for those in the Mississippi state region. WHile the funds went to help the more populated cities, such as New Orleans, the stretch from Biloxi to New Orleans received little. There are still no community centers or after school programs there. Suicide, divorce, substance abuse and crime are up 400% in that region. This video calls their plight to light with a call to siexe the day and step in with programs and support as a model for post disaster recovery in future events.
