The song really hasn't got it wrong. It is referring to His second coming.."'EVERY knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus is LORD"...In other words, even those who didn't believe, WILL believe, and HE WILL BE KING TO ALL! Why do people have to nit-pick over semantics? It's obvious what the song is about!

Great stuff. Important also to remember that we bear responsibility until that Great Day. We are the hands and feet and do the work here on this Earth. Too many times we become complacent, waiting for our Lord to bring the change he promised. We are part of that very change right here, right now and are accountable to Him for what he freely gives us. Every thing on Earth has rights, and humanity, in it's complacency, tends to walk all over that. Remember, the Earth is not ours, it is the Lord's, and everything in it. When we live with it, not on it or above it, poverty, war, crime, famine, hardship will truly become a thing of the past.

I am so sorry that most Christians are waiting for Jesus to come back and do what He promised to do the first time He came. The first century Jews expected the Messiah to come and defeat Rome. Unfortunately many Christians still think Jesus came or will come to set up an earthly kingdom. Jesus, I'm sorry that we refuse to accept your plain statements: "My kingdom is NOT of this world" (John 18:36). Our blessed Lord Jesus promised to return within His own generation to judge (Mt. 23:34-36), to , for every eye to see and knee bow (Rev. 1:1,3,7) to come in the clouds displaying His great power, gather His saints, and to bring an end to their (covenant) world (Mt. 24:29-34). He promised that some (but not all) those He spoke to would see all this in their generation (Mt. 16:27-28; 24:33-34), and all of His disciples understood this (Rom. 13:12; 16:20; Heb. 10:37; 1 Peter 4:5,7,17; 1 John 2:18; Rev. 1:1,3,7; 2:17,25; 3:3,10-11; 22:6,10,12,20). Of course, this is all apocalyptic imagery and not to be taken physically. We need to understand the original context and genres of the Bible a little better. The great news is that Jesus fully accomplished His work of bringing us into the New Jerusalem, the New Heavens and Earth! The Bible is not primarily concerned with biological life, suffering, or death but rather with covenant life, suffering, and death. The work of our Lord Jesus has already made possible a full relationship with God to all who will humbly accept Jesus by faith!

Yes, I agree with many of the previous comments.. Jesus IS king. He will not become King at His return, but is now reigning as King. Maybe the point of the song is that people will finally be forced to acknowledge Him as King at His return, but that's not what the lyrics say. Wish I could recommend this song to my friends, but I can't.

Great music, but... sorry to say it... but Jesus is already King and will always be, so don't look down but up for the great Day is coming soon and "our redemption draws near".

When will we believe what Jesus Himself said about His coming? He proclaimed that He would come [1] in His kingdom [2] in judgment [3] with His angels [4] and in the glory of His Father WHILE some of His disciples were STILL ALIVE (Matthew 16:27-28). He said He would come before they could pass through all the towns and cities of Israel (Matthew 10:23), before His own generation passed away (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21), and quickly (see Revelation). Are some of His disciples still alive, if this video is correct that He is yet to come? If Jesus did not keep His word concerning His coming, then what else did He mislead His followers about? I ask that only to make a point. I do believe that He kept (and keeps) His word, and also that He came in His kingdom, which is among us and in us (who are His followers) right now. We're so mixed up that Michael W. Smith presents the idea that Jesus is not yet King. It's good to see that a number of people already caught that mistake.

Love the idea of this video, though, I think they should have used a more common image of Christ (a picture most people could relate to). The actor who they used just didn't look like Jesus to me, so took away a lot of the greatness of the video. Too bad they couldn't make a movie about Jesus returning to earth.
