This is probably a light-hearted discussion, but...Dave is right. He IS coming back...not 'already has come back'. And the gameplan is clear: He is coming back, in the skies, at the sound of the trumpet. And by the way, prophecy is not and never has been a 'one time event'. God's Prophetic Words reverberate throughout the history of man. And it always points to the coming Christ, our hope and assurance of our salvation. So for you preterist, all I can think to say is what HE said: 42 "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. 43 "But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 44 "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. 45 "Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 "Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. 47 "Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 "But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My master is not coming for a long time,’. 49 and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards;. 50 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know, 51 and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Hi, Dave. Always great to see you!

A wonderful and correct view on the end times. Even before the Lord ascended to heaven the disciples were asking about the Kingdom. Jesus gave us His perspective in Acts Chapter 1 vs 7-8. This confirms what is being said in the video. Thank you so much.

Jesus came to the Earth as He had promised after about 4,000 years from the Fall and the first prophecy. He had been anticipated throughout the time and it had been told of His coming for the next 3,600 years. Drastic things happened meanwhile including the wiping of the planetary surface by a flood and a birth and presence of the nation Israel and the covenants with Noah, Abraham and David. It's quite easy to see Jesus could come again after 2,000 years from His first Advent, with His Gospel covering the planetary surface, the Holocaust and the rebirth of the nation Israel. We just must be ready for Him for all time like Noah and his family were!

A good direction to move, but consider that Jesus promised to come back in the generation that was alive when he spoke. Maybe the timing was literal and the method wasn't what we expected, instead of the popular interpretation that the descriptions of His return were literal and the timing was "metaphor." Maybe Jesus came back when he said he would... if you are curious about this perspective check out the "two guys and a bible" podacst at AD70.net.

Why is it that there is so many who focus on the Lord coming back when HE very clearly says he is coming back for a perfect bride wIthout spot or blemish. HMMMMM...... l don't know about you, but l think we are far from a perfect bride and what about HIS hope that none should perish. l think mostly we just plug on day after day waiting for God to do the next Big Thing! and what have we done for HIM LATELY!

2) Mike almost seems to put anyone who studies the details of prophecy into the category of "obsessed." (I'm sure he didn't really mean that...) But to be faithful to the "whole council of God" one SHOULD study the details and try to understand the meaning and application. One cannot be dogmatic, surely, since prophecy is not a foundational doctrinal area---but is cannot be dismissed so easily either. Just because some of the past interpretations were found to be inaccurate, it doesn't mean we should abandon the study of prophetic details. That would be irresponsible.

Why would Jesus say to "Watch" and Paul admonish us to look for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ if we are not to look at what is happening in the world and see that this is what the Bible has told us will come to pass? Why would Jesus spend so much time talking about an event that we are not to be watching for? I don't agree with what Mike McKinely has to say regarding Bible prophecy because again, if it is not important, why does the Bible talk so much about it? I am looking forward to the return of Jesus and I know that we are in the season, even though we do not know the day or the hour that He will return, but like Paul, He is coming!

"The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." I agree (to a certain extent) about being obsessed with the "end times" events. But Mike raises a number of issues. 1) Sensational interpretations and those which attempt to tie current events ("Newspaper Exegesis") is futile and perhaps dangerous. But 1/4 of the Bible is prophetic and Mike's simplistic assertion about just knowing Christ is coming should be enough is also a bit dangerous. God gave us the necessary tools to interpret the prophetic word and we should not neglect it. We can also state that Peter links end time events with godly living in the present. This should not be neglected either. Don't put off the details of the end times just because some have misused it! Professor H. Ching

Give me a break. After 2 millenia of errant projections surely Christ must have another game plan.

Amen. Mankind has anticipated the End from the Beginning and God's people always had it right. One very dramatic planet. Christians cherish every moment of life while waiting for the King's return. Unlike the rest of the mankind, Christians have a real mission to live for.
