Great Choices - I would have added CS Lewis - Mere Christianity also.

The Bible is the victor over the barbaric mankind including post-moderners.

My list: "Knowing God" by J.I. Packer, "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis, "The Pursuit of God" by A.W. Tozer, "My Utmost for His Highest" by Osward Chambers, and any book written by Andrew Murray. Christians should also study the Bible and the world history and the world conditions until we realize the entire human history including today is all about the triumphs of Judeo-Christian values over raw human evils and all the evil systems in civilizations.

I would add Mere Christianity for C.S.Lewis and Desiring God for John Piper.

A couple surprised me and others are in my library. I haven't made it all the way through the Institutes.
