Who is angry? I have simply stated that I disaprove of Tim Hawkin's so-called humor and calling you on your use of scriptures out of context. Just doing my duty as a Christian. Besides, I believe you attacked me first by trying to hit me over the head with out of context scriptures that you do not know the meaning of.

You're kind of making a pessimistic view of this video. You're saying that because Tim Hawkins makes a joke about boy's throwing pebbles at girls, it ruins Godtube's integrity. In real life we laugh about stuff that cause people pain (not serious pain, just bumps and bruises), but why? Why do we laugh about something like that when we see it in real life, but then be quick to judge the integrity of Godtube when someone makes a joke about it? I'm not saying that pain is good, I mean if someone is really hurt, then we wouldn't be laughing, but little things like this are nothing to get judgmental about. Am I not right in saying that Tim Hawkins is using the gifts God has given him for God's glory? When you talk about standards, how high are those standards? Not every video has to be complete to the Christian standards. Just look at the videos I post, they're not highly preachy in any way, my homeschool group and I just made them because we enjoyed it. There's nothing wrong with that. People are not perfect, and while we should strive to be more Christ-like, we're going to make mistakes.

You can say what you just said in a much kinder way you know. Now you're judging me. I don't really see how James 1:19 is out of context because I see you saying shame to Tim Hawkins and Godtube, and James 1:19 tells us to be slow to become angry. Explain to me how that is out of context. If you don't think this video is funny, that's your personal opinion, but don't attack others just because you feel that no one else should be supporting this. John 7:24 comes in because you're taking this one video and criticizing all of what Tim Hawkins does. You take the appearance of this video and make it seem like that's all he does. He does not often have parts in his comedy where he talks about one person inflicting pain on another. You're telling me that I'm going out of context, but don't take this one video of Tim Hawkins out of context as well, so to speak.

For anyone to say that Jesus would laugh about a boy stoning a girl and making her bleed is outrageous. 2000 years ago, when Jesus walked the Earth, throwing stones at a person was a method of capital punishment. Apostle Paul was stoned and left for dead. Can you name others in the bible who were stoned to death? Do you really think Jesus would laugh at this? Why not make a joke about girls nailing a boy to the cross. Would that be funny to anyone?

LOL, Rashida! Yes, we all need to pray for wisdom. If you think it's funny to joke about children throwing rocks and making each other bleed then you definitely need to pray for wisdom.

Nonsense. Stop quoting scriptures out of context and twisting them. I'm not judging Tim Hawkins but I do not approve of what he deems as humor. Kids will say or do things because they see or hear adults do or say them. So, whether ot not Tim supports violence matters not. This video is not funny. It's obvious that you have read some scriptures but do not understand what you have read.

Hilarious! and true. Remembering my then 8 year old son...after the neighbors cute cousin showed up, he runs in to the house, puts on a dress shirt and cologne, only to go outside and pulverize her in a game of murder ball.

GodTube should stand for a certain minimum value that reflects the Christian standard. Which would mean that certain video's that are in themselves okay, may not be suitable for GodTube. That's all. Humor is a great part of life. What I question is whether a Christian service such as GodTube needs to bring itself down to a level where we start laughing about boys throwing rocks at girls. It's stupid. There are plenty of other more suitable and funny materials to make us laugh on GodTube. And those that want to laugh about bleeding girls can do so , but preferrably not on GodTube. God's grace is sufficient for all. But God is pure and holy and He loves to see us become like Him.

You're talking about real violence and bullying in schools, Tim Hawkins was making jokes about boy's affection for girls. There's not much connection there. Why are you judging Tim Hawkins? Especially when it's not even our position to judge anyone? James 1:19, John 7:24. I notice people are concerned with child violence these days, but in no way does Tim Hawkins support violence. There's no reason to assume that. Making fun of the way boys show affection does not mean he finds violence funny.

Is it really wrong to laugh at a joke? The joke doesn't offend anyone, there's no profanity, no racism, so where in the Bible does it say that making a joke about a boy's strange affection for a girl is wrong? People are going to judge others for what they do/say, but in the end, does it really matter? Who is the ultimate judge? And is God going to condemn Tim Hawkins for doing comedy? "Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry." - James 1:19. "Stop judging by mere appearances and make a right judgement" - John 7:24.

Oh come on...he's just funny, have you had boys with crushes, I had one he started having girl friends at 5, he never threw anything, but what is he to do with the feelings he doesn't quite understand. Lighten up. It's a joke.

You seem to not understand scriptures. There is a difference between throwing stones and standing up for something. Have your read any of the New Testament? It's replete with scritptures condemning bad behaviors. Are you going to say that Apostle Paul should not have said the things he did about sinful behavior? And when we talk about judgment with respect to scriptures, we are talking about condemning others to hell, or not. I don't see anyone passing judgment on Tim Hawkins, here. But I do see people standing up for what is right. It's not funny and definitely not right to joke about a boy, girl, or otherwise, throwing a rock and making someone's head bleed.

  • 2011-08-16T16:46:48

I don't understand you people, God has a since of humor but we as SO CALLED CHRISTIANS FIND SO MUCH FAULT He didn't say it was acceptable behavior its just the way boys are.We need to be a happy people not so judgmental. If we cant laugh and be happy there is know God in us.

  • 2011-08-16T16:26:09

This was not funny at all. Why are people laughing at this? There is too much real violence at public schools, already. Why make fun of it? And boys aren't the only ones. My boys came home with report of a girl beating up boys who don't fight back because she's a girl. Nothing funny about child violence. Jesus is not laughing at this. Shame on Tim Hawkins and shame on GodTube.com.

i find it interesting that it's two guys downing this video and two women defending it. the guy brought truth to light and the women are like, 'yeah, that's right.' if a guy's not hitting you with something or snapping you with a towel or belt or irritating you somehow, you might even start to wonder what's wrong!? I was just telling my 11yr old daughter last night how what guys and girls find amusing is SOOOO different and understanding that is part of that battle as a woman. (and comedy is about extremes- would it be so funny if it were just about a guy tugging a girl's hair or bumping her in the hallway?)

I agree I didn't find this video particularly humorous. But it came to my attention something can be wrong without "profanity and cussing", unlike a previous comment to the video's comment stated. Regarding the posting of James 1:2-6 in a comment to the video's comment: I fail to see the relevance of that particular scripture in regards to the other content it your post. Also, Matthew 7:1 was misquoted and taken out of context in yet another comment to the video's comment, as just about every use of this scripture I see. Against the origonal comment to this video, I do not find all Godtube videos to be about God, but the standard should be the same for all videos. Never the less, the pointless arguing and bickering must stop on GodTube, as well as the poor videos! We should be pure and blameless in testimony, and GodTube is a reflection of quote, "Christian" videos. I absolutely dislike and disdain GodTube for the amount of horrible testimony that carries on, especially within video comments. Please correct me if I am in error. I desire not to put anyone down or as a personal offense by my post, but to correct errors. My goal is not to be "right", but to glorify God in all I do. Feel free to comment.
