I understand what you are all saying, but having a tattoo does not mean you are of this world anymore then having your ear pierced or wearing an outfit that you feel makes you look good, which im sure everyone has done one of those 2 things at one point or another. I believe that it all really depends on the kind of tattoo or piercing you get, for instance, if you get an ear piercing, its not all that bad, and many people thing it looks good and what not, but when you get a tongue piercing it suddenly has a negative impact on the way people see you. it is the same with tattoos. if I get a tattoo on my back of a cross and my favorite bible verse, it is not nearly the same thing as getting a tattoo of a naked lady. so in my opinion, it all depends on what and where you get the tattoo. some can be used to glorify God and others can be used to glorify satan. being a good Christian it is your job to see the difference between the 2 and if you want to get one, then get one that clearly glorifies God.

In that case. Do you not drive a car? Do you not go out and do things that worldly people do. Read the verse in context. Even out of context. Do not mark your body in the name of the dead, or get tattoos. Notice the punctuation in the sentence, therefore the second half of the sentence belongs with the first. Its easy to use dont conform to this world when it pertains to something you believe to be wrong. If you want to take conforming, as it reads in the bible, to literal, then here is what you do. Get rid of the cpu that you posted this on, sell your vehicle, stop working, stop wearing clothes, no using technology or cell phones. Dont do anything that worldly people do. You see how dumb that sounds John. Read scripture in context and dont misquote scriptures to fit your own doctrine.

Ferris, I hear exactly what you are saying. While I did not hear an audible voice telling me that my future wife was "THE ONE", I certainly believe it as God's plan for us to get together. She is the one who got me to really examine my relationship with the Lord, and from there I accepted Christ. In the years that followed, I, admittedly, was a fence straddler, never fully giving myself to the Lord. It took the divorce and all the hurt, anger, depression, mistrust, addictions, and otherwise faith-lacking behavior for me to sink SO LOW that my only course of action was to cry out to God. Like David, my emotions were all over the place. But God really came through in a great and mighty way: He delivered me from depression (so much so that I was able to quit THREE medications cold turkey), and set my life on a path of fulfillment IN HIM! Who knows, He may restore my marriage. But I am perfectly fine if He chooses not to. To God be all the glory!!

What's your opinion on "THE ONE" when you meet a girl the first time and you hear the audible voice of God saying "That's her "? I know it was his voice, and my spirit knew it too. Was not saved at the time, but did believe, pray , and attend church some. She helped me get in church full time and give my entire life to Christ. God blessed us with 3 girls and we were together for 25 yrs. Then satan slipped in and created a wedge. With NO doubt, I know it was God who put us together and still wants our marriage, but satan hates what God creates. All those years have passed and there is NO doubt that I heard God say THAT:S HER... With God ALL things are possible and our marriage is able to be resurrected if it's Gods will and she gives up her free will to be in his plan.

Celeste C. De Morales Portillo Not sure you could call him a false profit, there are still those males today who would call a female Preacher a false profit. I was de-friended on facebook by someone because I refused not to read King James only. Jesus was even called a false profit because He talked kindly to prostitutes and drunks. But I respect your view. I heard there will be three surprises in Heaven; people you didn't think would make it, did. people you thought would make it, didn't and that you're there. I hope and pray all concerned with this subject will be there.

I've been really thinking about getting a tattoo...but I kind of change my mind...thank God I haven't had it, yet.

As a young man with tattoos I agree with what he is saying. I have a cross tattoo and Mark 9:23 tattooed and I've witnessed to a lot of people because they asked about my tattoos and what they mean. Then I get to tell them about Jesus Christ which brings glory to God. And it hopefully has brought some to know Him.

MY MIND WONDERED DURING THE VIDEO, ONTO WHY IM GLAD I NEVER GOT ANY TATTOO'S!

  • 2012-10-17T21:29:34

This is the first time I have seen this young mans videos. I find him quite wise for one so young. (That Isn't a put down but genuine admiration. Concerning the tatto video; Leviticus is definatly OLD COVENANT, and then my question is, is tattoos a heaven and hell issue? Jefferson is correct if we are going to use such a verse to "condemn" people with, we need to take the whole verse and use it in context. We in the New Covenant are to be lead by the Holy Spirit not by the law that was never meant to us anyway.

AMEN, well said. !!! This young man is our clear example of a ¨false profet¨ as God says in bible.

I have never watched Godtube until I saw your post and was curious as to what was said. I had trouble with watching it - for some reason it kept stopping 1/2 way through, but I have to say, Johnny, you are absolutely right! We are to "come out from among them and be ye separate," we are to "glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" and we are to "be ye holy as I am holy." In addition, I don't agree with him regarding the video about how you know who is "the one." There absolutely is a person that is God's perfect will for your life. We have a choice of waiting on God as he will bring that person into our life, or relying on ourselves, our own desires and viewpoint to select our mate. Trust me, I know this one firsthand and you can most assuredly have peace from the Lord that you are with "the one!"

Seems to me that the issue is really one of determining who is glorified by the tattoo. God or Jay-Z? If the former, then my question might be, is there another way to glorify? If the latter, then I think Liviticus is pretty clear.

This video is very concerning to me. I have become accustomed to trusting Godtube messages to the point that I share with my son. This message seems to me total justification for those that want a tattoo. God calls His people to be separate from the world, and this includes how we live and conduct ourselves from an external facing standpoint. The reason for this is that what’s on the outside can represent what’s on the inside. For example, a person who dresses very provocatively may silently be communicating a sinful desire that is in their heart. A person who dresses in Goth fashion is likely affirming the lifestyles and practices that define that subculture. So the spiritual principle found in Leviticus 19 about tattoos and other such things still applies to us today. As Christians, we are to be in the world, but not of the world. This includes various identifying ‘marks’ of the world, not just physical imprints on the body.
