When I say that God respects those with other beliefs, what I'm saying is that he respects us enough to allow each of us to make the decision to serve Him for ourselves. What did Jesus say, "I stand at the door and knock" He doesn't barge in and tell us how wrong we are and why we're all going to hell. "I stand at the door and knock." I'm afraid that's not what you're advocating for. And having non-Christian friends... is not about... making them believe what I believe. There's no 'end game'. I find that offensive. Do you make friends with Christians because you hope to influence them to agree with you in some way? If you see non-Christians as 'other', I'm not sure you can ever truly understand either the ministry of Jesus or the Grace that has saved you. No offense, but I am so tired of Christians who believe they are special, and for get why! You don't deserve it! Neither do I! So stop looking at non-Christians like they're "heathens" or "pagans" like you've done somethinggreat! God is great! And I am lucky and thrilled that HE reached down and touched me...
but I didn't deserve it. And neither did you. :)

Greetings Steve, I have found that the Lord will send people my way, and I will water or plant, but the Lord will give the increase...I may not know what part I play in any particular persons life...but He gives the increase...I have never felt the need to go door to door, as some do...but, I can understand why some do...offenses are gonna come, can't be avoided...when I tell a JW that Russell and Rutherford have led many astray with the doctrine that they taught, or if I tell a Muslim the God did have a son, born of a woman...they get offended...and no, Jesus is no magical formula, but he is the sum of all things, and there is a process to faith in him. I don't believe that God respects what everyone believes concerning other faiths...does he respect a Satanist for believing in Satan? Did he respect Pharoah for his beliefs, those that believed in Moloch and Ashtoroth? Those that burned their children according to their beliefs? Our call is unto the lost, and yes, having non-christian friends is an opportunity for witness, because at some point, they watch our tracks...even if they don't read our tracts. We must provoke one another to love. Nothing against you, though...just some thoughts after reading your comment on the Linebacker Evagelism. I thank God for the Linebacker that came my way! |
