Doctors And Nurses Pray Together Before Shift Begins
“Let their hands bring healing and comfort to all that they care for,” says one of the nurses at the beginning of her prayer.
“Lord, we ask you to give them wisdom and favor. We ask that you would encourage them to be the leaders you have called them to be,” she continues. “Let them be confident knowing that you are guiding their every step. Lord, give them patience, strength, and most of all, love as they walk in their new paths.”
As the prayer is being said aloud, a large group of nurses and doctors are gathered around each other in a hallway with their hands outstretched to heaven.
“Lord, we ask that you send them on their new journeys with open arms, knowing that they have made the right decisions,” the nurse says as she is holding back her tears. “Lord, place a hedge of protection around them and all of our staff. We lift up those that are sick, crying, and dying. That they might find comfort and peace in you. We ask this in your precious name, Jesus. Amen.”
What a powerful moment caught on camera. It is encouraging to see all of these doctors and nurses calling on God and asking for His guidance as they go about their day. The work that they do is so important and that is not lost on them. But they know that they can do their best work when they put God first.
With all that is going on with the coronavirus, we must keep all our healthcare and hospital workers in our prayers. They are putting their lives on the line to try and save the thousands of people who have been infected with this virus. Their selflessness does not go unnoticed.
