Teen's Show-Stopping Audition Leads To Rare 4-Chair Turn On The Voice
A young woman, a 16-year-old, turned in a stellar vocal performance during the blind audition on The Voice, which caused all four judges to turn their chairs around for her.
Everyone will get knocked down and go through situations that will leave them battered and bruised. People are by no means perfect. Everyone has their flaws and imperfections, and because of that, unfortunately, failure is a part of life.
However, failure is not always a bad thing. Stumbling and failing, while never a pleasant time, can be a learning experience. It can be tremendously beneficial if people can objectively look at themselves, see their mistakes, and then correct and learn from them.
One young woman, 16-year-old Serenity Arce, was able to do just that, as she had learned from a past failure. In a clip posted on YouTube, Serenity performed “This City,” and moments after she opened her mouth and started singing, all four judges slammed their buttons and turned their chairs for her.
John Legend, Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay turned around so quickly that it had to be some kind of record.
After her stellar blind audition, Serenity mentioned that she had previously tried out for the show a couple of years earlier. But instead of giving up and saying that music was not for her, the young woman got right back up and did it again.
Her determination and persistence made all the difference, too. All four judges delivered compliment after compliment, praising her voice and singing technique.
John even congratulated her for refusing to give up.
“I’m so proud of you for coming back here because all of us have had people tell us ‘No,’ and we had to come back and say, ‘No, I’m going to try again,’” he said. “And that’s how we got to where we are.”
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.”
